From 1970 - 1976 Myrjam Boone attended the Academy of Visual Arts in Utrecht, The Netherlands. During the two years preceding the academical years she already got painting lessons by Jos Lussenburg, Jaap Hiddink, Chris Ten Bruggen Cate and other painters at the Free Academy in the place where she was born, the Dutch painters village Nunspeet. And so she started drawing portraits, model drawing (“Child, you have to ask your parents to write a permission letter so you will be allowed to follow those lessons) and drawing and painting still life and landscapes.
Technics and skills, that’s what is was all about. She hoped to receive a further deepening at the Academy for Art in Utrecht, but unfortunately times had changed there and they told her when she was already half a year on the way that painting wasn’t commercially sensible anymore. So she had to choose another direction. When you’re sixteen years old you’re easy to manipulate in a direction which doesn’t touch your soul. In retrospect she should have searched for another academy, but in those days they didn’t have the possibility to choose much. As far as you could know without internet anyway which academy was offering what and what the differences between the institutions were.

Ever lasting development….
Livid with rage and so she did everything her teachers had forbidden to do: putting paint on the linen with pallet knife and direct from the tubes without blending the colours in advance. If you lost your temper enough than this is great to do!
The sum of these two independent trees is more than this wholeness alone…
Orthodoxy has the same effect on her as snow-owls wearing sunglasses.
The big shaman Indian. She dreamed of him in 1980. Since he has always been near to her and he still is. Her life lasting upper guide.
